William D. Rocheny

William D Rocheny, 71, of Bayonne, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Rochelle Park, NJ, with his loving family by his side.

 “Bill” as he was known by his family and friends, was born in Bayonne and was a lifelong resident.  Bill will be remembered as a family man who had sincere compassion for others.  For more than 20 years he and his wife Cathy owned and operated Bill’s Luncheonette located on 25^th St. and Prospect Ave. where he proudly served the East side community.  Bill was also employed with the Bayonne Board of Education as a building engineer for Lincoln Community School for more than 30 years before his retirement in 1998.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, George and Anna (nee: Gula) Rocheny. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years Catherine (Cathy) (nee: Fabian) Rocheny; 3 sons, Jay and Greg Rocheny; and Mark and his wife Laurie Rocheny; 2 brothers, Peter and his wife Diane Rocheny and Paul and his wife Laurie Rocheny; his loving aunt Mary Paprocki; 9 granchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass in Bill’s honor on Tuesday, July 25, at 9:45 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. mass at St. John Paul II Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with Fr. Zenon Boczek officiating. A private cremation will immediately follow.

Please note: There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
