Barbara A. (Bolicki) Katulka

Barbara A. Katulka (nee: Bolicki), 74, of Bayonne, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Bayonne Medical Center with her loving family by her side.

“Babs” as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, was born in Hillside, NJ, and has resided most of her life in Bayonne.  She was employed as an administrative assistant for The Office of Family Life of the Newark Archdiocese, a position she held for 12 years before her retirement 15 years ago.  Prior to that, she was the school secretary at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Elementary School in Bayonne from 1978 to 1991.

Babs will be remembered as a caring person with a keen sense of humor.  She enjoyed visits to the seashore, especially summer vacations in Point Pleasant where she and her family treasured spending quality time together.  She took great pride in caring for her three dogs and two birds, referring to them as her “grand-pets”.  Babs was a sports enthusiast and an avid fan of Notre Dame football, never missing a single game.  She loved watching the Super Bowl and college football and was also a fan of the New York Mets.

Babs was predeceased by her beloved husband Thomas Katulka (in 1976) and her parents, Michael and Helen (Murasko) Bolicki.  Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Christine Sorrentino and her husband James, and Sandra Gallagher and her husband Matthew; three grandchildren, Katherine and Patrick Sorrentino and Hannah Gallagher; and her precious grand-pets.

A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 6, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Everyone is asked to assemble at St. Henry’s R.C. Church at 9:15 am for a 9:30 am funeral mass in Babs honor.  A private cremation will follow at Rosehill Crematory in Linden, NJ.
