Dawn M. (Sherry) Vitale

The world is a sadder place over the unexpected passing of Dawn M. Vitale (nee: Sherry), on Monday, September 2, 2019.  Dawn was born in Jersey City before relocating to Bayonne where she has resided for most of her life.  She worked as a customer service representative for the Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne, a position she held for more than five years. 

Dawn will be remembered as a remarkable woman who embraced life to the fullest, and did so with passion and enthusiasm.  With a natural born talent for poetry and music, she expressed herself spiritually and uniquely through every poem and song she wrote.  She enjoyed taking spontaneous vacations to various places with one of her favorite spots being Florida.  She especially enjoyed traveling with her husband on his work related trips to New York City where she was captivated by the sights and scenery.  But above all, Dawn’s family was the most important priority to her and she loved them all with every ounce of her beautiful heart.  She took extreme pride in her role as wife and mother and treasured the quality times spent attending her daughter Savanna’s dance recitals where she joyfully captured the moments with every picture she took.  Her loving spirit and sparkling personality will be fiercely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dawn was predeceased by her mother, Barbara (Sherry) Piazza and her brother John Sherry.  Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Edward Vitale; her adored children, Savanna and Jonathan Vitale; her sister, Josephine Serafin and her companion Joaquin Miranda; her step-father, Andrew Piazza, brothers-in-law, Michael and his wife Diane Vitale, and Joseph Vitale, nieces Harley Miranda and Trinity Miranda, and nephews, Tyler Vitale, Jaxson, and Jeremy Miranda.  Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home, 20 East 22nd Street, Bayonne, on Saturday, September 7, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. with a Catholic prayer service held in Dawn’s honor at 6:30 pm in the funeral home chapel.  Cremation will be private.
