Dorothy Picarelli (nee: Mackiewicz), 73, of Forked River, entered into eternal rest on October 13, 2019 at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, NJ.
“Dotti”, as she was known by all, was born and raised in Bayonne, where she resided her whole life before settling in Forked River two years ago. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a lab technician for the ICI Americas Inc. in Bayonne, a position she held for over 20 years. She also worked part-time at the Bayonne 5th Street Deli.
In her early years, Dotti was an avid bowler and league player. She found contentment in crocheting and took great pride in her completed projects. Some of her favorite activities included Wii-bowling, and playing bingo and cards with her circle of friends at the Heritage Village.
Dotti was predeceased by her husband, Ciro (in 2009), her parents, Frank and Tessie (Hojnacki) Mackiewicz, and her brother, Frank Mackiewicz Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted children, Renay Riddle and husband Craig, Valerie Iskowitz, Michael Iskowitz and wife Bernice; her brother, Robert Mackiewicz; and her two adored grandchildren, Dino Forst Jr. and Gabriella Iskowitz.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, October 17, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
