Eleanor Matuch

Eleanor Matuch, (nee: Jakubowski) 89, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2019 with her loving family by her side. 

A devoted homemaker, Eleanor’s family was her biggest source of pride, and remained her top priority throughout her life.  She treasured holidays and family gatherings and held every special memory close to her heart.  In her spare time she enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and bowling with the Knights of Columbus League.

For those who knew Eleanor will remember her inner glow and outgoing personality.  She was truly the epitome of beauty, strength and grace.  Her loss will be deeply felt but will live on in memory through her unwavering kindness, warm smile, and love she shared with others.

Eleanor was predeceased by her dearly beloved husband John (in 1999); her parents, Stefan and Eleanora (nee: Slowenska) Jakubowski; her sister Irene Wilczewski, and brothers, Karol, Alfred, and Stephen Jakubowski.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Tricia Cerbone and husband Frank; sons, Robert Matuch and his fiancé Morgan, Michael Matuch and his wife Donna, and Tom Matuch, and her four adored grandchildren, Matthew (Kelsey), Nicholas and Christopher Cerbone and SPC. U.S. Army Zachary Matuch.  Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Sunday, August 4, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.  A catholic funeral service will be offered on Monday, August 5, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity in Eleanor’s memory.
