Florence (nee: Jurhiewicz) Vila, 87, of Bayonne, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2017 at her nephews residence in Point Pleasant, N.J.
Prior to her retirement in 1986, Florence was employed as a procurement specialist for the Military Sea Lift Command Center of Bayonne (MOTBY) for 30 years. Florence was a parishioner of the Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church in Bayonne where she was active in numerous parish events and activities. She and her husband Frank traveled extensively during their early years together which brought great joy to their lives. Florence's unwavering faith and commitment to her family and friends will live on forever.
Florence was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank in 2005; her parents, Joseph and Isabelle (Izaguirre) Jurhiewicz; her sister Helen Looper; and her niece Karen Kay; Left to cherish her memory are her sister Manuela (Amy) Ramos; her nephews, Gary Ramos; Michael Ramos and his wife Meg (Margaret) and their children, Noah and Joshua; Wayne Looper and his wife Kelli; and Kenneth Looper and his wife Kathy. Also survived by additional grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Friday, December 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A funeral mass will follow at the Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church, 290 Ave. E, Bayonne. Interment: Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic Cemetery, Staten Island, N.Y.
