Frances Ann DeSalvo, 91, of Whiting, N.J., entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 27, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New York City, Frances resided most of her life in North Bergen before settling in Whiting 14 years ago.
Upon graduating from Textile High School she held a position as head telephone operator for the Ansonia Hotel which was considered the “grandest hotel in Manhattan”. Frances' most rewarding time in life was her role as homemaker and stay at home mother raising her three sons. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and a passionate golfer where she enjoyed playing on the east coast. She served as a CCD teacher for many years at Holy Family Church in Union City where she was also a faithful member.
Frances was predeceased by her parents, James E. and Sophia DeBarr (nee: Schultz), her dearly beloved husband of 66 years Michael A., son Michael J., sisters Marilyn Cappiello (nee: DeBarr) and Rose Rose (nee: DeBarr)
Left to cherish her legacy are sons Robert C. DeSalvo and his wife Esther, James B. DeSalvo and his wife Donna, grandchildren, Robert A., Christina M., Lauren E., and Michael F., great-granddaughter Rihanna J., step-granddaughter Beatriz Z. Guerra, and step-great-grandson Joseph Santiago.
A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Monday, November 4, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral mass in Frances' honor will be held on Tuesday, November 5, at 11:00 am from the Parish of St. John Paul II at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne, NJ. Interment will follow at Madonna Cemetery, 2070 Hoefleys Lane, Fort Lee, N.J.
