Gabriel Thomas Bellotti Sr.

Gabriel Thomas Bellotti Sr., 71, of Bayonne, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Jersey City, Gabriel resided for many years in Bayonne.  Prior to his retirement in 2010, he worked for the Truchan  Bros. Auto & Towing Company in Jersey City for 15 years.  

Gabriel had a lifelong passion for singing and playing the guitar.  His unique musical and vocal style influenced his children in a special way.  It brought great joy to Gabriel as they all performed in the band they created together.  He was especially proud of the natural ability his children had playing the drums, base, keyboards and wind instruments at family gatherings alongside him.

Gabriel will long be remembered for his zest for life and fierce love for the Beatles songs. He possessed a sharp wit and keen sense of humor.  He treasured quality time shopping trips with his family and was notorious for being the first one to push the shopping cart.  He leaves behind a legacy of love and will forever live on in the countless stories of the lives he touched.

Gabriel was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas William Bellotti and  Margaret Marie (Henshaw) Bellotti; his son-in-law Frank Hernandez; 3 brothers, Joseph Bellotti and his wife Helen; Nicholas Bellotti and Thomas Bellotti; and 1 sister Carol Ann McKay.  Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 53 years, Carol Ann (Fatakes) Bellotti; 4 daughters, Patricia Ann Hernandez; Carol Lynn Leone and husband Antonio; Dawn Lee and wife Geralynn Ann Bellotti; Debra Cappello and husband Anthony; 3 sons, Gabriel Thomas Bellotti Jr. and wife Christine; Thomas William Bellotti Jr. and wife Maria; and Joseph C. Bellotti and wife Janene.  One brother Paul William Bellotti and wife Vicki; 2 sisters, Frances Burke and husband Robert; Patricia Ganza Schappert; 1 sister-in-law Alice (Thomas) Bellotti; 1 brother-in-law James (Carol Ann) McKay; 32 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored.

A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Friday, June 28, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.  Everyone is asked to meet at St. Frances R.C. Church, 308 Jefferson Street, Hoboken, NJ, on Saturday, 10:00 am for a funeral mass in Gabriel's honor.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington, NJ.

*Please note, there will be no visitation at the funeral home on Saturday morning.
