Genevieve Chmielewski, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 2, 2018. Prior to her retirement in 1998 she was employed at J P Morgan Chase Bank on Wall Street, a position she held since 1948.
Genevieve was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and was a member in good standing with the Mount Carmel Seniors Group. She thoroughly enjoyed volunteering her time at the annual Mount Carmel Parish picnic and especially looked forward to meeting with her friends at McDonald’s after mass for great conversation and laughter.
Genevieve was the loving daughter of the late Angela and Adolph Chmielewski; sister of the late Jean Holowed and the late Edward and Rudolph Chmielewski.
Devoted Aunt to Vivian Holowed (June 10, 1942-Sept 3, 1961). She leaves behind to cherish her memory, nieces, Gloria Holowed of Toms River, NJ and Susan Kuzminski and husband Charles of Ocean View, DE; grand-nephew Peter Kuzminski and wife Margie; great-nieces Sophia and Evelyn of Leesburg, VA.; grand-niece Danielle Berster and husband Michael and great-nephew Brian of Wilmington, DE.; grand-nephew Jonathan Kuzminski and wife Daniele of Alexandria, VA.; grand-nephew David Kuzminski and wife Erin and great-niece Noelle of Charlestown, MA.; niece Jeanne Holowed Blanchard and spouse Paul; grand-nephew Eric Blanchard and spouse Zoë Souliotis Foley; and great-nephew Henry; grand-nephew Matthew Blanchard; niece Elaine Holowed Collister and spouse Thomas Collister; grand-nephews Zachary and Adam and their wives and children;
Dear friend Sylvia Margetak and her family; and goddaughter Nancy Lynch and spouse George and their family.
Visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, November 15, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be offered in Genevieve's honor on Friday, November 16, at 10:00 a.m. from the Parish of Saint John Paul II at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Interment will follow at the family burial plot at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J.
