Helen Van Natta, 55, of Bayonne, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. She was born in Jersey City before settling in Bayonne where she resided for the past 34 years.
Helen worked as a beautician for Jon Anthony Salons in Bayonne, a career that would span for many years. She had a unique way of making her clients feel confident and beautiful and was considered by many to have the ability to be a “beautician to the stars”. She was also employed as a teacher’s aide for both the Bayonne and the Jersey City school systems.
In her spare time she enjoyed traveling and arts and crafts where she could master any new project she put her mind to. Helen will be remembered not only for her gifted hands but for her smile that could light up a room with a personality to match.
She was predeceased by her parents, William Steven and Eva (Popailo) Van Natta and her brothers, Walton and William Van Natta. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Nicolette Dalhamer and husband Justin, her sisters, Deborah Grysko and husband Richard, Corrine Downes and Husband Terence and Lisa Ballweg and husband Owen; 2 adored grandchildren, Evangelina and Jaxon Dalhamer; loving aunt and godmother to Olivia Ballweg; including 7 additional nieces and nephews, Owen Walter Ballweg, Gianna and Steven Van Natta, Karen and Eric Grysko, and Kyrsten Van Natta and Alexandra Walsh; her sister-in-law Diane (William) Van Natta; and her longtime companion James Finnegan.
A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Sunday, March 17 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm with a parastas service at 3:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 18, at 10:00 am Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 30 East 25th Street, Bayonne. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
