Irene Haschak, (nee: Ozimek) a lifelong Bayonne resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Peace Care St. Joseph's in Jersey City, surrounded by her loving family.
Irene retired in 1988 after a lengthy career as a bookkeeper with the RCA Corporation in Linden, N.J. Irene will be deeply missed and remembered by family and friends for her warm personality and soft spoken demeanor. She was a determined and generous supporter of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church where she devoted herself to many positions and contributed to causes helping those less fortunate which included: chairperson for the Mt. Carmel Food Pantry for nearly 10 years, past president and life member of the Mt. Carmel Guild, member of the Rosary Society, member of the Mt. Carmel Parish Council, the Bingo Committee, and church usherette.
Irene was predeceased by her beloved husband John Haschak (in 1996), and her parents, Raymond and Kazimiera (nee: Kuczynska) Ozimek, her sister Theresa Andreychak and husband Andrew, and her nephew Andrew Andreychak. Left to cherish her memory are her son John Haschak, nieces and nephews, Barbara and Rudy Pernini, Linda and Christopher Andreychak, and Christine Andreychak (Andrew). Also survived by many dear grandnieces and grandnephews.
A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 20, from 3:00 to 7:00pm. A funeral mass in Irene’s honor will be offered on Thursday, November 21, at 10:00 a.m. from the Parish of St. John II at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donation to Peace Care at St. Joseph’s would be most appreciated.
