Jeanette (Kaczka) Zientek

Jeanette Zientek (nee: Kaczka) 89, of Shark River Hills, NJ, formerly of Bayonne, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, with her loving family by her side.

“Jean” as she was lovingly known by all, was born in Bayonne where she resided most of her life before moving to Shark River Hills 10 years ago. She was employed by the City of Bayonne as a crossing guard for many years before her retirement. 

A communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Jean was an active volunteer in many parish activities and groups which included, past president of the Mt. Carmel Parish Council, the Mt. Carmel Seniors, the Mt. Carmel School P.T.A. and the Mt. Carmel Women's Bowling League.

Jean will be greatly missed for her warm smile and her kind and loving ways not only by her family but by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. 

Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward J. Zientek in 2001; her parents, John and Mary (Kos) Kaczka; two sisters, Sr. Anna Marie CSSF. And Estelle Kiensicki and six brothers, Rev. Joseph Kaczka, Stanley,Andrew, Edward, Dr. Thaddeus DDS., and Walter Kaczka. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Mary Jean, two sons, Paul and his wife Maryann and Robert and his wife Linda. Three grandchildren, Stacy Puchalik and husband Richard, Christopher Zientek and wife Kristen and Nicole Zientek; and three great-grandchildren, Max and Lucas Puchalik and Tyler Zientek.

A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 10, from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm. A funeral mass in Jean’s honor will be offered on Wednesday, April 11, at 10:00 at St. John Paul II Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.

In lieu of flowers, donations are kindly requested to be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation in memory of Jean. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
