John Jezyk, 83, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Jersey City Medical with his loving family by his side.
John served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his release from military service, he went on to work as a pattern maker for the Maidenform Company in Bayonne, a position he held for 44 years until his retirement in 1997.
John’s interests included baseball and going to the Meadowlands Racetrack. He appreciated the outdoors and enjoyed taking long walks in his neighborhood and throughout the city of Bayonne. John had a love for bike riding that lasted up until the age of 75.
John was predeceased by his beloved wife Dolores (nee: Zygmunt) in 1989; his parents, John and Helen (nee: Midura) Jezyk; his brother Edward Jezyk and his wife Judith. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Cynthia Jezyk; two sons, Michael and Steven Jezyk and four nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Friday morning, August 23 from 10:00 am to 12:00. A Catholic prayer service will be held in the funeral home chapel by the officiating clergy from St. John Paul II Parish. Interment will military honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J.
