It is with great sadness that the family of Josephine Yglesisa (Fico) announces her passing at the age of 60.
Born and raised in Bayonne, Josephine moved to Paramus, NJ, where she resided for the past 31 years. She was a graduate of Vroom Elementary and Bayonne High School and attended Jersey City State College.
She was employed as a package courier for the United Parcel Service of Saddle Brook, NJ, a position she held for many years prior to her retirement 2 years ago. Josephine was a parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Church in Bayonne. In her spare time she enjoyed art and painting. She was a devoted and loving wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother.
When you think of Josephine celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember her warm smile, her kind spirit and her legacy that lives on.
She was predeceased by her husband Fred Yglesias and her father Anthony Fico. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Danielle Yglesias and Jillian Yglesias and husband Walter Von Borstel, her son Joseph Yglesias and his wife Lindsay, her mother Mary Fico (Passaro), her sister Teresa Lacalandra and her husband Veris Giampaoli; and her 4 adored grandchildren, Lenaya, Giavella, Walter and William.
A memorial mass in Italian and English will be held in Josephine’s honor on Friday, April 12, at 11:00 am from the Parish of St. John Paul II of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne.
Interment will follow at Holy Name Chapel Mausoleum, Jersey City.
Lingers On In Memory
We can’t know why the lily has
so brief a time to bloom in the
warmth of sunlight’s kiss upon its
face. Before it folds its fragrance in
and bids the world goodnight to
rest its beauty in a gentler place.
But, we can know that nothing
that is loved is ever lost. And no
one who has touched a heart
can really pass away, because some
beauty lingers on in each memory
of which they’ve been a part.
