Jozef Marek Lampa, 48, of Bayonne, NJ passed away on Friday, May 31, 2018.
Born on June 15, 1969, in Zakopane, Poland, to Jozef and Janina Lampa, he came to the United States in 1991 where he settled in Bayonne for the past 27 years.
Jozef maintained a strong work ethic throughout his life. Having studied the trade of carpentry from an early age, he managed to develop his own practice and become a proud business owner.
With a zest for life, Jozef was an avid outdoorsman and fitness enthusiast whose activities included running and biking at the park. He had a passion for the martial arts, having achieved a black belt in Shotokan at the age of 31. In his leisure time he enjoyed watching movies, especially the Fast and Furious films.
Jozef had the honor and privilege of meeting Pope John Paul II during a trip to the Vatican, a memory he cherished and held close to his heart.
He is survived by his wife Beata (Ordowska) Lampa; his adored children, Jozef and Joanna, parents, Jozef and Janina (Piecuch) Lampa; and 3 sisters, Gosia, Basia, and Anna Lampa.
A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 6, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm & 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A funeral mass in Jozef’s honor will be offered in Polish on Thursday, June 7, at 10:00 am at St. John Paul II Parish of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne. Cremation will be private.
