Mary E. Betkowski, (nee: Skowronski), a lifelong resident of Bayonne, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Bayonne Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
Mary spent most of her life as a devoted homemaker. In her younger days she worked as a quality control inspector for the Western Electric Company in Kearny, N.J. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and a member of the Mt. Carmel Seniors. Mary will be missed and remembered for her friendly smile and kind spirit.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John V. Betkowski (in 2004); parents, George and Sophie (Kardys) Skowronski; brothers, Chester, John, Edward, Joseph, and Anthony Skowronski; one grandson, Stephen and two granddaughters, Kimberly and Dr. Jennifer Betkowski. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, John R. Betkowski and wife Martha; Kenneth S. Betkowski and wife Barbara; and Robert G. Betkowski; her brother Stanley Skowronski; four grandchildren, Melissa Walters, Kenneth S. Betkowski Jr.; Paul and Brittanie Betkowski; and eleven great-grandchildren, Riley, Cooper, Peyton, Briella, Benjamin, Ryan, Kayla, Owen, Kirsten, Eva, and Emily.
A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Friday morning, October 26, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
A funeral mass in Mary’s honor will be offered at 9:00 a.m. from the Parish of St. John Paul II at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the ASPCA are kindly request.
