Ryszard Ciupa, age 70, of Bayonne, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Columbus Hospital in Newark, NJ, with his loving daughter by his side.
Born in Poland, Ryszard emigrated to the United States in 1966 and settled in Bayonne. He was employed as a hi-lo operator for the Essex Chemical Corporation in Sayreville, NJ, a position he held for 25 years before his retirement in 1997.
Ryszard was an avid sports enthusiast for most of his life. As a youth growing up in Poland he developed a love for soccer where he excelled on his soccer team. Ryszard was an outstanding member of his work bowling league at Essex Chemicals and won awards for his perfect scores. In his spare time he enjoyed freshwater fishing.
Ryszard was predeceased by his beloved wife Danuta (nee: Supinska) Ciupa (in 2006); his dear son Christopher (in 2018); his parents in Poland; and his sister Danuta Gonczorek. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Elizabeth Ciupa, and his four adored grandchildren, Breana, Dakota, Ashley, and Jesse Ciupa.
A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Friday, June 29, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. A funeral mass in Ryszard’s honor will be offered on Saturday, June 30, at 10:00 am at St. John Paul II Parish of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington, NJ.
