Stanislaw Skibniewski, 91, of Bayonne, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 20, 2019, at the Alaris Health at West Orange.
"Stas", as he was known by all, was a man of great character who lived by way of example. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a truck and trailer mechanic for Rick's Transportation Services Inc., a position he held for many years.
Stas’s love and devotion to his family was unquestionable and unwavering and his strong work ethic was one of his most admired characteristic traits. With a true zest for life, he will be remembered for his keen sense of humor and quick wit. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and respect that will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Stas' was predeceased by his parents, Francizek and Anna (Bukowska) Skibniewski, and four brothers, Dominik, Marian, Jozef, and Waclaw. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Waclawa (nee: Organek) Skibniewski, his daughter, Jessica Dawidowski and husband Andrzej, his son Miroslaw Skibniewski and wife Jadwiga, one sister, Veronika, grandchildren, Damian Skibniewski and fiancé Kelly McAndrew, Pawel Dawidowski and fiancé Katryna Rak, Alexandra and Frederick T. Fulton, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 23, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A funeral mass in Polish will be offered in Stas’s honor on Thursday, October 24, at 10:00 am. from the Parish of St. John Paul II at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 E. 22nd St., Bayonne. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown, Pa.
