Obituary

Adrienne Marangio (nee: Holtzman)  passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2020, after a long illness that was complicated by COVID-19.  She was employed with ShopRite Inserra Supermarkets in Bayonne for many years.

Adrienne was President of the Backbay Gardens Tenants Council in Bayonne where she used her creative talents to organize various social events.  A humble person by nature, Adrienne radiated kindness, compassion and warmth.   She took tremendous pride in her family and treasured special moments spent with them.  Some of her favorite pastimes included reading, doing her daily crossword puzzles, and playing Bingo.  Her legacy will leave a lasting impression on all who knew and loved her.

Adrienne is now reunited with her dearly beloved daughter Cherie La Pelusa, who sadly passed away just 4 days before her due to complications from COVID-19.  Adrienne was predeceased by her husband John Marangio and her parents, Rae and Ralph Holtzman.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Julie Gartenberg and Maria Davin, her sister, Lois Grassi, six grandchildren, Gary, David, Jennifer and Gianna La Pelusa, Jon Michael Marangio and Samantha Davin, four great-grandchildren Noah and Nicholas LaPelusa, Ellie Marangio and Felix Arroyo, and her son-in-law Gary LaPelusa Sr.  Also survived by her caring nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

I AM STILL WITH YOU

If it seems that I am far away on this empty and solemn day
Just open your heart and know it’s true
that I am still right here with you.
If during the day things are going wrong
please don’t feel sad and alone.
Just open your heart and know it’s true
that I am still right here with you.
When night time falls and the day is done
If you are feeling alone and sleep won’t come
Just open your heart and know it’s true
that I am still right here with you.
Close your eyes, and feel the warm embrace
Sleep peacefully in the wings of grace
If sadness finds you in the morning light
if you feel alone, don’t give up trying
Hold this feather close and know it’s true
that I am always here with you.

Interment at Clover Leaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge, NJ, will be private.
