Alvaro R. Ortega Jr.

Alvaro R. Ortega Jr., 39 of Bayonne, formerly of Jersey City, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at the University Hospital in Newark. 

Alvaro was employed for many years in the meat-packing industry for the Green Village Packing Company in Chatham, NJ.

Alvaro will be most remembered for his generosity and kindness toward others as well as his sense of humor and outgoing personality. In his leisure time he enjoyed music of all types and had a passion for classic cars. 

Above all, Alvaro was a family oriented man who treasured his children and embraced every moment with them.  Left to cherish his memory are his beloved parents, Alvaro Sr. and Lillian (nee: Caro), his adored children, daughter Aljanae, and sons, Jayden and Almir, his sisters, Elizabeth Cunniffee and husband Keith, and Lucy Ortega, and his brother, Miguel Rivera and his companion Ieisha Williams.

A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home, 20 East 22nd Street, Bayonne, on Saturday, January 11, 2020, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.  A private cremation will be held at Rosehill Crematory, Linden, NJ.
