Andrew Paul Stoveken (Andy) a lifelong Bayonne resident, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2023, at Alaris Health in Rochelle Park, NJ, surrounded by his loving family.
Andy was employed with the City of Bayonne as a heavy equipment operator, a position he held for more than 23 years before his retirement in 2014.
A true motorcycle enthusiast, Andy enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson and living a free spirited life. A proud and patriotic member of the Rolling Thunder, Inc., Andy traveled to Washington, D.C., every Memorial Day joining hundreds of thousands of motorcyclists from across the country in support of Veterans of all wars for their sacrifice and service to our nation.
Andy embraced life with enthusiasm and gratitude spending peaceful hours at the park and visits to the Seaside Heights Boardwalk where he would never miss the chance to order his usual sausage and peppers sub at the Midway stand. A self-taught guitarist, his musical talents were appreciated at social gatherings and family events. As selfless as they come, Andy's kind soul and genuine compassion resonated deeply to those around him. Whether through acts of kindness or a simple listening ear, he was quick to put the needs of others before his own.
Although Andy's passing leaves a profound void, his presence and wonderful legacy will be remembered for all eternity. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife Marie (Kaminski) Stoveken, his son, Andrew R. Stoveken (fiancée, Anne Liu), and two brothers, Donald (Hope), and Jeffrey (Cindy). Beloved son of the late Richard and Miriam (Brace) Stoveken; dear brother of the late Kenneth Stoveken.
All services at the funeral home were private followed by a private cremation at Rosehill Crematory in Linden, NJ.
His Journey Goes On
It’s all about the journey
It’s the part that counts
Even when he gets there
He may just turn around.
He rides like an eagle, flying
All along the stars;
It’s all about the journey
Safe now from any harm.
Too soon he left to travel
Beyond where we can see
But it’s all about the journey
Forever riding free.
