Ann E. Nowak, entered into eternal rest peacefully at home on August 10, 2025, embraced by the love of her devoted husband, Ed.
Born in Jersey City, she resided in Bayonne for most of her life.
Before retiring in 2022, Ann served for 12 years as an administrative assistant in the Office of Planning and Zoning for the City of Bayonne, where her dedication and professionalism left an enduring mark.
Ann and her husband appreciated the time they spent at their getaway home in Roscoe, New York, where their peaceful 5-acre property with its gentle stream created a place of serenity they both cherished. Her pets, Rosco, Lipstick, and Summer Rose, brought her daily joy and companionship, filling her days with warmth and affection.
Ann will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered as a woman who embodied elegance, sophistication, and a polished style that reflected the pride she took in every aspect of her life. Her radiance, warm smile, and kind spirit made her unforgettable, and there will never be another person like her.
Ann was the dearly beloved daughter of the late Peter and Rozalia Nowak (nee Dorobisz) and the dear sister of the late John and Lester Nowak. She leaves behind countless wonderful memories for her husband of 30 years, who brought joy to her life, as well as his two sons, Gregory and Jonathan, and their children, Vera Rose and Noah.
A memorial mass to honor Ann's memory will be held at St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church, 82 W 29th St, Bayonne, NJ, on Friday, August 15, at 10:45 AM. Cremation was private.
In Loving Memory of
ANN E. NOWAK-SMITH
A rose once grew where all could see,
sheltered beside a garden wall.
And, as the days passed swiftly by,
it spread its branches, straight and tall…
One day, a beam of light shone through
a crevice that had opened wide.
The rose bent gently towards its warmth
then passed beyond to the other side…
Now, you who deeply feel its loss,
be comforted — the rose blooms there —
its beauty even greater now,
nurtured by God’s own loving care.
