Aranka Barta, beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at her Bayonne residence on October 30, 2023, with her loving family by her side.
Born in the province of Rivne, Czechoslovakia (now Ukraine), Aranka spoke fluent Ukrainian, Russian, Hungarian, and German. Her natural talent for learning new languages led to a rewarding career as a teacher in Ukraine where she enriched the education of countless children.
In 2001 Aranka immigrated to the United States and settled in Bayonne. While Aranka was known for her strong work ethic, it was her unwavering devotion to her family that truly defined her. Beyond being an outstanding mother she embraced the role of grandmother with boundless joy. Her 11-year-old Maltese Bolognese, Vinci, who brought her endless comfort and companionship, was considered a third grandchild in Aranka's eyes. She lived her life with grace and dignity, and her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved.
Aranka was predeceased by her mother Iren Barta, and her siblings, Olga and Erno Barta. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Gizella Lopusanszky, and her husband Alexander Demko, two grandsons, Mychajlo and Antin Demko, her sister Erzsebet Marton, and her brother Viktor Barta.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 1, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., with a Catholic religious service officiated by Rev. Roman Petryshak of Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church. Cremation will be privately held at Rosehill Crematory in Linden, NJ.
