Obituary

Barbara Pasuco (nee: Friend) entered into eternal rest peacefully on Sunday, March 12, 2023.

Born in Clara, Mississippi, she and her family moved to Jersey City then to Bayonne where she lived most of her life.

Barbara held various work positions over the years, including the Colgate Palmolive Company in Jersey City and the Sunrise Tavern & Restaurant in Bayonne, where she took the utmost pleasure in working as a hostess and meeting new people.  She eventually retired after a ten-year position as a secretary for the First Savings and Loan Bank.  In her spare time, she enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and was always up for a good game of BINGO.

Above all, Barbara's greatest passion in life was spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren all of whom she took extreme pride in.  She will be missed beyond measure but her wonderful legacy will live on through her proud and loving family and the countless lives she enriched.

Barbara is predeceased by her husband, Raymond A. Pasuco Sr. and her son Raymond J. Pasuco, and her parents, John and Ethel Friend; and her sisters, Jean Bordignon, Frances Rogers, and her brother, William Friend  and her son-in-law, Harry Trumpore, and Elizabeth Murphy (companion of John Pasuco).  Left to cherish her memory are her children, Taryn Kobryn (Michael), Lori Matus, Lisa Giglio (Thomas), Joseph Pasuco (Maureen), John Pasuco, Gina Pasuco, (Christopher) sisters, Gladys Klemanowicz and Jacqueline Friend; and her 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

All services will be private.

A Mother’s love is something
that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,

It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .

It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .

It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .

It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .

A many splendored miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God’s tender guiding hand.
