Binda Ortega Obituary

Binda M. Ortega, of Bayonne, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on Thursday, September 1, 2022.  Born in Moca, Dominican Republic, Binda immigrated to the United States in 1988 and has resided in Bayonne for the past 34 years.  She worked as a building custodian for the Ideal Window Manufacturing in Bayonne, a position she held for 10 years before retiring in 1999.

Nothing made Binda feel more blessed than being the matriarch of her large close-knit family which consisted of 8 children and 40 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom were her greatest source of pride.  She treasured holiday gatherings and special events which centered around music, dancing and everyone enjoying her signature meals.  She made her home a warm and welcoming haven for all who entered and reached out through phone calls to those she wished were there to enjoy the festivities.

Known for her empathetic nature, Binda was a woman who had a giving heart and cared for everyone in her life, especially those in need.  You didn't have to be a relative to call her "Mama".  She carried herself with beauty and grace and had a resilience that was admired by many.  She had a love for all animals and appreciated nature and vibrant flowers.  She also loved visits back home to her extended family in the Dominican Republic.

Binda's family will forever feel grateful for having her in their live's and for all she has done for them.  They know she is grateful for the love they gave her in return, especially the tireless efforts her daughters made taking care of her when she fell sick.  Her legacy of love and joyful spirit will no doubt carry them through for all eternity and live on in their hearts forever.  May She Rest In Peace!

Binda was predeceased by her beloved husband, Saturnino, her parents, Domingo and Amada (Martinez) Ortega, and her son, Miguel Reynoso.  left to cherish her memory are her children, Francisca Reynoso, Angela Sepulveda, Ana Maria Lirano, Maria Bare, Claribel, Marluz Reynoso, and Luis Reynoso; her brother, Rafael Ortega, and her 40 precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
