David Hernandez

It is with deep sadness that the family of David Hernandez announces his passing on September 8, 2022.  Born in Jersey City, David resided there for most of his life before moving to Bayonne 10 years ago.

After high school David pursued his passion in the automotive industry.  His strong work ethic earned him a position as a diesel mechanic with the Resources Trucking Company in Secaucus, New Jersey.  His unique ability to repair a wide range of cars, diesel-powered vehicles and boat engines served him well during his successful 32-year career.

David was a loyal and diehard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, never missing a single game on TV.  He had an appreciation for the outdoors and found relaxation in fishing and visiting his favorite fishing spots throughout various locations in New Jersey.  He had a deep and abiding love and devotion to his family and was the ultimate role model to his grandchildren, where he routinely demonstrated the importance of integrity and character.  His beloved Rottweiler "Princess" brought immense joy to his life and she held a special place in his heart.  David will be missed beyond measure, but his legacy will remain in the hearts of the countless lives he touched.

Loving son of the late Jorge Hernandez Sr., and dear brother and brother-in-law to the late Carlos Hernandez Sr., and Kristine McClanahan.  Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Betsy Casillas Hernandez, his daughters, Siomaira Romero and her husband Michael, Shevon Resto, and Bianca Borsch and her husband Will, his son, David Hernandez Jr., and his longtime partner Annette Malave, his mother, Rosa Mercedes Hernandez, his brother, Jorge Hernandez, sister-in-law, Elsa Hernandez, eight  grandchildren and his soon to be grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, September 15, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.  A family eulogy service will be held during visiting hours.  Interment: Friday, September 16, - 11:30 a.m. at Rosehill Cemetery in Linden, N.J.
