Donald M. Salati, of Bayonne, entered into eternal rest at home on Sunday, April 26, 2020. Born in Jersey City, he resided for most of his life in Bayonne. Prior to his retirement in 1999 he worked as a salesman for the Sterling Trimming Company in Jersey City, a position he held for 50 years.
Donald demonstrated a keen sense of selecting wise financial investments as he tracked the stock market on a daily basis. He appreciated the simple things in life like sitting on his front porch relaxing and having long conversations with his neighbors and friends. He was known by many for his compassionate nature and genuine concern for the well-being of others.
Donald had a great affection for all of God’s creatures, especially his faithful poodle Ralph, whose passing left a huge void in his life. His deep love and commitment to his family is what he will be most remembered by.
Donald was predeceased by his parents, Eugenio and Mildred (nee: D’Agosta) Salati, and three brothers, Arthur, Frank, and Eugene. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 61 years, Frances (nee: Massa), two daughters, Marianne Salati, and Donna Mustillo and her husband Dominic, his adored grandchildren, Cristin, Gregory (Amalia) and Stephen Mustillo. Also survived by his nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum will be Private. Memorial contributions in Donald’s memory may be made to the Bayonne Feral Cat Foundation, 88 West 6th Street, Bayonne, NJ 07002
Angel of God,
my guardian dear,
to whom God's love commits me here,
Ever this day be at my side
to light and guard to rule and guide.
Amen.
