Eduardo Ugaz-Cordova Obituary

Eduardo Ugaz-Cordova, beloved husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and friend to all passed away peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2022, at Bayonne Medical Center.

Born in Callao, Peru, Eduardo immigrated to the United States in 1978 and has resided in Bayonne for the past 43 years.  As a young boy in Peru, Eduardo had a passion for soccer and was a fan of the soccer club The Sports Boys.  Early in life, he acquired a solid work ethic and determination which led to his employment as a maintenance engineer at the World Trade Center, a position he held for 27 years.  In his free time, he enjoyed taking trips to his favorite casino in Atlantic City, the Tropicana, and dancing to his favorite salsa music.  With a zest for life, he had a charisma that truly made him the life of any party.  Eduardo will be missed and remembered for his kindness to others and his unwavering devotion to his family.

Loving son of the late Eduardo and Hilda (nee: Cordova) Ugaz and dear father of the late Edward Ugaz (deceased in 2021).  Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Bertha Bejar de Ugaz, his sons, Erick Ugaz, and his wife, Laura, and Seiby Ugaz, and six grandchildren, Allen, Dylan, Justin, Ethan, Casey, and Darryl Ugaz.

Private services were held at Rosehill Crematory, in Linden, NJ.

GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

Don’t think of me as gone away
My journey’s just begun,
Life holds so many facets
This earth is only one.

Just think of me as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years.

Think how I must be wishing
That we could know today
How nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away.

And think of me as living
In the hearts of those I have touched
For nothing loved is ever lost
And I was loved so much.
