Obituary

Eileen V. Kaczka, entered into eternal rest peacefully on February 15, 2023, at Peace Care St. Ann's in Jersey City with her loving family by her side.   Born and raised in Bayonne, she was a lifelong resident.

A dedicated homemaker, Eileen tirelessly managed family life with pride and self-sacrifice.  She was fiercely proud of her Irish heritage and treasured celebrating her all-time favorite holiday, "St. Patrick's Day" where her home was always open for everyone to enjoy the festivities as she hosted her traditional 60-pound corned beef and cabbage meals.

Known for her exceptional bowling skills, Eileen participated in several area leagues, including the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mt. Carmel Lyceum, and the Castaways.  She was a master story and joke teller with a great sense of humor and quick wit that was endeared by those around her.

With endless devotion, she never missed a single birthday for her large extended family as she made each person feel extra special with a memorable card or a phone call to express her love for them.  In her leisure time, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting many beautiful creations that graced her home.

Although Eileen's absence leaves a void in the hearts of her loved ones, her warmth and radiating smile will be lovingly remembered for all eternity.

She is predeceased by her dearly beloved husband, Walter (Ducky) Kaczka  (in 2003), parents, Frank and Clara (Feur) Curtis, and brothers, Frank, Tim, Jackie, and Chris Curtis.  Left to cherish her wonderful legacy are her daughter, Joann Harrigan (Todd) sons, Walter (Sandra), Thomas (Deborah), John (Debra) and Joseph (Colleen), 11 grandchildren, Fallon Salso (Gregory), Lauren Weiss (Travis), Katherine Vaccaro (Mike), Christopher Kaczka (Alyssa), Kyle Kaczka (Kaitlyn) Todd Harrigan, Gregory Kaczka , Kenny Kaczka (fiancé Anna), Casey Harrigan (Brandon), Krista Kaczka, and Katie Harrigan, 6 great-grandchildren, Liam, Finn, Julian, Cora, Lillian, and Trevor, 2 brothers, Robert and Thomas Curtis, and many dear nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Monday, February 20, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.  A funeral mass will be offered on Tuesday, February 21, at 11:00 a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 979 Ave. C (corner of 47th St.), Bayonne.  Interment will follow at the family burial plot at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City, NJ.
