Eleanor J. (Beym) Nelson

Eleanor J. Nelson (nee: Beym) a lifelong Bayonne resident, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2023, with her loving family by her side.

Eleanor spent the early years of her life as a devoted homemaker who put the needs of her family first and foremost. She was a longtime member of the  St. Joseph's Rosary Society.

Eleanor embraced life with passion and lived it to the fullest. She treasured family vacations to Cape May and Disneyworld as well as relaxing summer getaways at her daughter and son-in-law's home in Lavallette. 

In her leisure time, she enjoyed the comforts of home and watching some of her favorite game shows including Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and The Price is Right.

Eleanor is predeceased by her dearly beloved husband, John R. Nelson Sr., four sisters, Edna, Edna, Ann, and Ethel, and one brother, Frank Beym.  Left to cherish her memory are her children, John R. Nelson Jr. (Geraldine) Cynthia "Cindy" Wandel (Frederick) and Maureen, and Debra Nelson (John Weaver) her sister, Florence LeFante, three grandchildren, Kyle John Nelson, Michael Christopher Wandel, and Andrew James Nelson.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday morning, March 20, from 8:45 to 10:45 a.m.  A funeral mass in Eleanor's honor will be offered at St. John Paul II Parish, 39 E. 22nd St., Bayonne, at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
