Evelyn Barnett

We mourn the passing of Evelyn Barnett, beloved mother of Casey and Jim Horgan, Ashleigh Barnett and Susan Thomson Barnett, Craig Barnett, and Karen Reisner; proud grandmother of Justin, Alexandra, and Stephen Skop, and Ethan, Emma, and Chase. Evelyn died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on February 21, 2025, at the age of 86.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Temple Emanu-El, 180 Piermont Road, Closter, NJ, followed by the burial at Beth Israel Cemetery, 1098 Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge, NJ. Shiva will be observed from 4:00 - 8:00 PM with a Shiva Minyan at 7:00 PM on Monday, February 24, at the home of Casey and Jim Horgan, 314 Westgate Drive in Edison, NJ, and on Tuesday, February 25, at the home of Craig Barnett and Karen Reisner, 210 Brookside Avenue in Cresskill, NJ.

The family has asked those wishing to donate in Evelyn’s memory to consider donating to the Temple Emanu-El of Edison fund, which will benefit the completion of their new spiritual home. May the memory of Evelyn Barnett always be for a blessing. Our hearts reach out to the Horgan-Barnett family with the prayer that the love of family and friends will be a source of comfort and strength during this time of mourning.
