Francisco Matos-Torres

Francisco Matos-Torres, age 79, of Bayonne, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the Alaris at Hamilton Park Care Facility in Jersey City. Born in Puerto Rico, Francisco made Bayonne his home more than forty years ago.  He devoted many years to being a self-employed contractor and also served as a building superintendent, taking pride in his work with care and precision. 

Francisco found happiness in life's simple pleasures, especially being outdoors, where he could connect with his neighbors and share stories with them. He also took comfort in spending time at the park under the sun, trying his luck with scratch-off tickets while enjoying the peacefulness of the day.  Known for his kindness and gentle nature, he lived a life built on friendship, compassion, and genuine care for others. Francisco's warm smile and friendly nature brought joy to everyone he met.

Francisco will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his dear friends and neighbors: Ivette Cintron, Leslie Gago, Marixa Wood, Lisa DeJesus, Anna and Angie Gago, and Quetsy Robles, whose friendship brought joy and purpose to his life. 

Funeral services were private. 

Afterglow

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one,

of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.

I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun.
