After a life well lived, Frank Kotula entered into eternal rest peacefully on April 3, 2021 at the age of 97.
Frank served his country proudly in the United States Army during WWII. After completing his military duties he began a successful 40 year career as an electrical engineer for the Western Electric Company, retiring in 1986.
Frank was an active member of the Western Electric Pioneers Club, the Mt. Carmel Holy Name Society, the Mt. Carmel Seniors, and the Bayonne Knights of Columbus Council #371 and their bowling league.
A devout parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Frank had a deep and abiding faith in God and a strong devotion to the rosary that sustained him throughout his life. Frank’s favorite pastimes included trips to Atlantic City and cruises to Alaska. He especially loved holiday get-togethers with his family and enjoying a good game of horseshoes.
Frank was predeceased by his dearly beloved wife of 69 years, Josephine (Olkowska) (in 2019) and his parents, Joseph and Louise Kotula. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Susan Segovia and husband Luis, and Karen Kotula, sons, Brian Kotula, and Stephen Kotula and wife Wendy; sister, Florence Dobies and husband Edward, his five adored grandchildren, Luis, Nicholas and Vincent Segovia, Matthew Kotula and Lindsay Reilly, and three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Jack, and Mckenzie.
A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 6, from 4:00 to 8:00pm. A funeral mass in Frank’s honor will be offered on Wednesday, April 7, at 10:30 am from the Parish of St. John Paul II at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, officiated by Fr. Lukasz Kleczka. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington, NJ.
