Frederick McManus Jr., a lifelong Jersey City resident entered into eternal rest peacefully on Thursday, September 29, 2022. Frederick served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. In his leisure time he enjoyed meeting up with friends for a game of pool and good conversation. Fred also loved dancing and listening to a wide variety of Jazz and R&B music with his favorite song being "One In A Million You" by Larry Graham. He had a talent for woodworking and building some of the most beautiful furniture that was appreciated by many.
Fred was predeceased by his parents, Frederick Sr. and Florence McManus (nee: Hunter), his sisters, Anita, Patty, Iris McManus, and Paula McManus Barksdale, and two brothers, Michael and David McManus. Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Teisha McManus, Frederick McManus III, Tamika Fields, Rashon McManus, Sywane McManus, Flozesio Jimenez, Altarique Jimenez, Dominique Jiminez; 2 sisters, Evangelist-Debra McManus Searvance, Rana McManus Jones, and Brenda; his uncle Henry Hunter; 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

I Do Not Go Alone
If Death should beckon me
with outstretched hand
And whisper softly of
"An Unknown Band"
I shall not be afraid to go,
For though the path I do not know,
I take Death's Hand without a fear,
For He who safely brought me here
Will also take me safely back
And though in many things I lack,
He will not let me go alone
Into the "Valley That's Unknown"...
So I reach out and take Death's Hand
And journey to the "Promise Land.
