Geraldine f. Pongrac, 58, of Bayonne, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019 with her loving family by her side.
Geraldine was born in Passaic, before moving with her family to Secaucus, then later settling in Bayonne, where she resided for the past 16 years.
Geraldine’s will be remembered as an extraordinary woman who modeled generosity and compassion, while expecting nothing in return. As a talented hairstylist, she worked at home where she provided a warm and friendly atmosphere for her clients. In her spare time she enjoyed taking long walks on the Downtown Jersey City Waterfront and listening to her favorite music by Janis Joplin and Rod Stewart.
Above all else, Geraldine’s role as mother was what brought her extreme pride and joy. Her first and foremost priority was the importance of instilling values, respect, and honesty in her children while encourging them to strive to be the best they could be.
Geraldine was predeceased by her longtime companion, Robert Zibowich, her father, Joseph Pongrac, her sister, Kathleen Pongrac, and her brother, Christopher Pongrac. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jessica Pongrac, her son, Robert Pongrac, her mother, Patricia Pongrac, and her two adored nieces, Ashley and Samantha Pongrac.
A visitation was held on December 11, 2019, with a catholic religious service officiated by Rev. Pawel Dolinski of St. John Paul II Parish, Bayonne. Cremation was held at Rosehill Crematory in Linden, N.J.
