Irene Bartosiewicz (Bartos)

Irene Bartosiewicz “Bartos” (nee: Konczal), 93 a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away peacefully at her daughters home in Middletown on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

Irene was employed as a telephone operator for many years with the Bell Telephone Company in New York City.  She then went on to pursue a career as a product researcher with the Maidenform Company in Bayonne.  As part of Maidenforms anniversary celebration in Manhattan, Irene was responsible for setting up and maintaining the museum exhibits.

Irene and her husband shared many favorite pastimes together which included road trips throughout South Jersey and relaxing at the Jersey Shore.  She was also an avid Yankees fan who never missed a game. Irene had a deep love for her family and treasured times spent with them.  She took tremendous pride throughout the years in her role as the doting “Babci” to her ten grandchildren, and nothing meant more to her than instilling values and encouragement with their education and outside activities.  

As a passionate American and a true patriot, Irene stayed aware and interested in the culture and politics of her country and watched just about every debate.

Irene was predeceased by her beloved husband William (in 2014), her parents, Bronislaw and Mary (nee: Rogacki) Bartosiewicz, siblings, Mary Markowski, Adele Masin, Pauline Rumian, and Joseph and Edward Konczal.  Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses, Diane Bajor and husband Leonard, William and wife Cleo, and Robert and wife Jacqueline, one brother, John Konczal, and ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, March 12, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.  A funeral mass in Irene’s honor will be offered on Friday, March 13, at 10:00 a.m. from the Parish of St. John Paul II at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Irene’s memory.
