Irene M. Harris, (nee: Wortnowska), passed away peacefully on July 24, 2020, at Bayonne Medical Center. Irene was born in Bayonne where she resided for most of her life before relocating to Cape Coral Florida. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a custodian for the Cape Coral Hospital and Cape Coral High School.
With a feisty demeanor, Irene embraced life her way. At 94 years old, she enjoyed having whatever foods she wanted and was content just staying home or simply having a cigarette while spending time with one of her granddaughters. She loved her family and was especially fond of her 2 son-in-laws, Tony and Jack. She was very proud of the fact that she could remember the names of all 21 of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren right up until her final days.
Irene was predeceased by her dearly beloved husband Marion, parents Thomas and Teodozja Wortnowski, sisters, Jean Herrel and Terry Blankenship, and son-in-law, William Gricko. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Joan Circkirillo and husband Anthony, Helen Gricko, and Jean Lander and husband Jack, 9 grandchildren, Patrick, Natalie, Jennifer, Colleen, Michael, Darla, Danny, Lauren, James, and 12 great-grandchildren, Billy, Abby, Jacky, Casey, Amanda, Chloe, Kayla, Josh, Dakota, Rory, Rebecca, and Natassia,
