Irene (Pavlak) Kelly

Irene Kelly, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, peacefully passed away at home on February 5, 2025.

Throughout her professional career, Irene made her mark in various roles, most notably as an office manager for Manpower Placement Services in Jersey City, NJ, as well as at Chase Manhattan Bank and Western Electric. 

Irene's remarkable artistic talent came to light when her daughter-in-law, Alison, surprised her with a painting easel and a vibrant set of paints. This thoughtful gift sparked a creative journey, leading Irene to produce stunning artwork featuring captivating animals, vibrant flowers, and breathtaking scenic views. She also devoted herself to crocheting, a joyful pastime that brought her tranquility and fulfillment.

Irene radiated happiness during family gatherings at her son Jeffrey’s barbecues, where the warmth of her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren (who lovingly referred to her as "Nanny") enriched her world. Irene’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her spirit will continue to shine brightly in their lives.

Irene was predeceased by her beloved husband, Haywood Kelly; her son, Jeffrey; her parents, Alexander and Natalie Pavlak; three sisters, Fay, Cecelia, and Gertrude; and her brother, Alfred Pavlak; her daughters-in-law, Alison Kelly and Patricia Kelly. She leaves behind a loving family who will honor her memory: her son, Stephen; four grandchildren, Jennifer Mancini (Anthony) Stephen Kelly Jr., Jeffrey Kelly Jr., and Danica J. Fallon (Joshua); and her great-grandchildren, Anthony Jr. and Mia, and her former daughter-in-law, Kelly Kelly.

A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Monday, February 10, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A 10:30 AM funeral mass will be offered on Tuesday, February 11, at St. John Paul II Parish, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne.

Please note: There will be no visiting hours at the funeral home on Tuesday morning; everyone is asked to meet at church.
