It is with great sadness that the family of Janina Gieldowski-Svejda announces her unexpected passing on June 26, 2021.
Born in Poland, Janina immigrated to the United States in 1974 where she resided in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn before settling in Bayonne in 1982. She was employed for many years as a maintenance worker for various medical offices.
Janina was respected and admired for her strong work ethic and dedicated family values. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Janina was the dearly beloved wife of the late Irko Svejda (deceased in 2000) and the daughter of the late Adam and Jozefa Szymborski. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Grazyna Perko, sons, Marek Gieldowski and wife Iwona, and Jerzy Gieldowski; five grandchildren, Urban, Magda, Mateusz, Marcin, Katarzyna, and two great-grandchildren, Gabriela and Kaya.
A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, July 1, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral mass in Polish will be offered on Friday, July 2, at 10:30 a.m., from St. John Paul II Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, officiated by the Rev. Lukasz Kleczka. Interment will follow at the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown, Pa.
O GENTLEST HEART OF JESUS,
ever present in the Blessed Sacrament,
ever consumed with burning love for the poor captive souls in Purgatory,
have mercy on the soul of Thy departed servant.
