Jeffrey Kelly entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 16, 2024 with his loving family by his side. A native of Bayonne, Jeff recently relocated to Toms River, NJ, after living in Fords for many years. With a background in operations management, he held a position at Spirit Delivery Service in the heart of Soho, New York.
A diehard sports fan, Jeff's love for the Yankees began during his formative years in Little League baseball, where he not only excelled on the field but also earned the endearing nickname "Jolten Jeff" from his teammates. Jeff's enthusiasm for the world of sports also extended to football, where he passionately supported his favorite team, the Giants. In addition to his athletic achievements, Jeff showcased his musical talent as a skilled drummer for the "Ripped Band" in his earlier years.
Jeff took great delight in treasured moments spent with his beloved family and friends, meticulously crafting his one-of-a-kind signature dishes and festive barbecues filled with laughter, warmth, and shared memories. He had a special and irreplaceable bond with his dog, Rex, who was his loyal companion and filled his life with immeasurable joy and comfort.
With a love for the great outdoors, Jeff treasured every moment spent on his 27-foot striper boat, casting his line into the shimmering waters in pursuit of the perfect catch. This filled his leisure time with peace and tranquility, allowing him to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Jeff was the dearly beloved husband of the late Alison A. Kelly and the son of the late Haywood Kelly. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jennifer Mancini (Anthony), Danica Kelly (Joshua Fallon), Jeffrey Kelly Jr.; his former wife, Kelly Kelly, his loving mother, Irene Kelly (nee: Pavlak); his brother, Stephen Kelly; two grandchildren, Anthony and Mia Mancini, his nephew, Stephen Kelly and his girlfriend, Amanda Fortune.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family in celebrating Jeff’s life on Friday, September 20, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. During visiting hours, a Catholic prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM.
On Saturday morning, September 21, at 9:45 AM, all are cordially invited to assemble at the funeral home prior to the procession to Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, where Jeff will be laid to rest.
FOOTPRINTS
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was
walking along the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand:
one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life,
there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened
at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him, and he questioned the LORD about it:
"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during
the most troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.
"The LORD replied: "My son, my precious child,
I love you, and I would never leave you. During your times
of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of
footprints, it was then that I carried you."
