Joan L. (Kaminski) Jedziniak

Joan L. Jedziniak, devoted wife, cherished mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, mentor, and friend to all, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at JFK Hospital in Edison, NJ, with her loving family by her side.

A lifelong Bayonne resident, Joan shared a remarkable 68-year marriage with her beloved husband, Joseph, a love built on loyalty and respect, and a lifetime of standing beside one another through every joy and challenge life brought their way. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, tradition, and unconditional love, with family always remaining at the center of their lives. Their marriage was admired by all who knew them and served as a beautiful example of lasting commitment and true partnership. 

Prior to her retirement, Joan was employed as a shipping manager for Azov Shipping Container Lines of South Kearny, NJ, a position she held for many years.

Throughout the many weddings Joan and Joseph attended over the years, they especially looked forward to joining the dance floor whenever married couples were invited to dance according to the number of years they had been married, and time and time again, Joan and Joseph remained the last couple standing. It was a moment that always meant so much to them and reflected the lasting love, devotion, and beautiful life they shared throughout their marriage. Even during Joan’s final days, the deep love and comfort they shared never faded, and among the last words she heard from the husband who had stood beside her through the many chapters of her life was “I love you,” which remained with her until the very end.

Joan was the heart and matriarch of her family, and nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with those she loved most. She especially treasured the holidays, filling her home with beautiful decorations, home-cooked meals, baked treats, and the warmth and togetherness that created lifelong memories for her family. Lovingly known as "Nanny", Joan shared a special bond with each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always took a genuine interest in their lives, whether it was school activities, sports, clubs, or organizations.  No matter the occasion, everyone looked forward to a phone call from "Nanny", whether it was to check in, share a laugh, offer advice, or let them know she was thinking of them. 

Throughout the years, Joan and Joseph shared many memorable moments, traveling abroad to Aruba, Greece, and Spain, along with a beautiful family getaway to the Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean, as well as many happy times at the casinos in Atlantic City.

In her leisure time, Joan enjoyed knitting, arts and crafts, and keeping busy with the simple things that brought her happiness. Her love, guidance, strength, and presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Joan was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Lottie (Bavlish) Kaminski; her sisters, Barbara Kaminski, Diane Cerbone, and her husband, Vincent, Geraldine Baker and her husband, Charles; her brother-in-law, James Hock; and her beloved granddaughter, Tania Jedziniak.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Joseph A. Jedziniak; her sons, Henry and his wife Marie, Robert, and longtime companion Emma, and Michael and his wife Jeannette; her sister, Christine Hock; her 7 grandchildren, Jennifer Solazzo, Daniel, Joseph, Robert, Jonathan, David Jedziniak, and Tarah Romano, along with her 13 great-grandchildren, Lucas, Annie, Levi, Teddy, Greyson Solazzo, Austin, Brad, Kyle, Marnie Jedziniak, Thomas, Vivian Romano, Sophie, and Penelope Jedziniak; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home, 20 E. 22nd St., Bayonne, NJ, on Sunday, May 17, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.

A funeral mass in Joan’s honor will be offered on Monday, May 18, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Paul II Parish (Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church), 39 E. 22nd St., Bayonne, NJ.

Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
