John A. Bera, 90, a lifelong Bayonne resident, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Bayonne Medical Center with his loving family by his side. John was employed with the FMC Vending Corporation as a sales representative, a position he held for more than 30 years before his retirement. John was a former commander of American Legion Post 19 Bayonne where he was active each year with the Memorial Day Parade.
John was predeceased by his beloved wife Helen (nee: Metejek) Bera, his daughter Joann Fedyshyn, his son John Bera Jr., his grandson Nicholas Fedyshyn, his parents, Adam and Florence (Kicinski) Bera, and his brothers, Charles, Walter, and Edward. Left to cherish his memory are his son-in-law William Fedyshyn, his daughter-in-law Patty Bera, three grandchildren, Ashley, Fedyshyn, Krysta and John Bera, and one great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, February 9, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass in John’s honor will be offered on Friday, February 10, at 11:00 am at St. John Paul II Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
