John A. Himmelman passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife and family. Born and raised on Long Island, he lived there for many years before making Bayonne his home 44 years ago.
John dedicated a significant portion of his career as a floor manager at the New York Stock Exchange, where his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to excellence earned him immense respect from peers and colleagues in the financial industry.
An avid outdoorsman, John cherished his daily routine of jogging and walking, often covering an impressive 10 miles each day. He was a passionate sports fan, eagerly following his favorite teams—the Giants, Knicks, and the Yankees. In addition to his sports enthusiasm, John was a gifted puzzle maker, often completing 1,000-piece puzzles in just a day or two.
John was predeceased by his beloved parents, Carl and Ida Himmelman (Hettinger), and his sister, Ann Himmelman. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Eugenia (Jean) Mydosh; his three sons: John Himmelman (Betsy), James Himmelman (Leny), and Joseph Himmelman (Carol); his stepson, Mark Makowski; stepdaughters, Linda Ostaszewski (James) and Cynthia Fagan (Joseph); and his six adored grandchildren.
In honor of John's wishes, services were private.
