John P. Nowak Sr., 64, of Bayonne, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Bayonne Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Jersey City, John was employed as a sheet metal fabricator for over 40 years with the Corrugated Metals Corporation in Jersey City. He then retired from the Baldwin Steel Company in Jersey City after 12 years of service. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1972 to 1978.
John will be remembered as a dedicated and loving family man and a proud grandfather who instilled wonderful values in his grandchildren, all of whom he adored. His greatest joys in life was his passion for fishing and taking daily walks. John possessed kindness and compassion to all animals and his love for them was evident by the many strays he took into his home over the years making them members of his own family.
John was predeceased by his parents, Piotr and Rozalia (Dorbise) Nowak; He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Margaret (Eggers) Nowak; his two sons, John Nowak Jr. and his wife Gina, and Peter Nowak and his wife Amanda; his grandchildren, Jake, Victoria, Patrick, Maximus, and Grace; three sisters, Barbara Gordon, Irene Moench, and Ann Smith; and one brother Henry Nowak. A memorial mass in John’s memory will be offered on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. John Paul II Parish of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne. Cremation was privately held at Rosehill Crematory, Linden, NJ.
