Jose E. Ocasio Jr. entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at the Jersey City Medical Center.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Jose moved to Bayonne in 1966 and has since resided there. He worked as a truck driver for the Angus Tank Cleaning Corp. in Bayonne for the past 13 years. He continued on with the company after it changed ownership then retired shortly thereafter.
Jose had a zest for life and enjoyed living it to the fullest. He loved to dance every chance he had and looked forward to attending parties and celebrations and being with his family and close friends. He was especially appreciated for his exceptional cooking skills and the hospitality he showed to anyone who entered his home. Jose will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Jose was predeceased by parents, Jose E. and Maria C. (Pagan) Ocasio, and his sister, Carmen Iris Coss. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Luz Ocasio, Myrna Santiago, and Nancy Lopez, brothers, Jose Antonio Ocasio, Hannel Rodriguez, and Nelson Pagan, and many nieces and nephews.
A private cremation was held at Rosehill Crematory in Linden. Family and friends will honor Jose’s life during a memorial gathering on Thursday, August 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. in the funeral home chapel.
His Journey’s Just Begun
Don’t think of him as gone away,
His journey’s just begun,
life holds so many facets,
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting,
from the sorrows and the tears,
in a place of warmth and comfort,
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing,
that we could know today,
how nothing but our sadness,
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched...
for nothing loved is ever lost...
and he was loved so much!
