Jose A. Jerez

Jose A. Jerez-Barrios, of Bayonne, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Bayonne Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Guatemala, he immigrated to the United States in 2001 where he has since resided.  Jose took pride in the many years he spent as a self-employed appliance technician. 
 

A man of deep religious faith, Jose was a member of the Journey Community Church in Bayonne where he devoted much of his time to.  He was a diehard soccer fan who never missed a game on TV.  In his younger years, he put his heart and soul into the sport and eventually became an exceptional goalie.  

Jose lived life to the fullest and treasured his much-anticipated trips back to Guatemala to visit his relatives and friends.  Above all else, Jose was a family man with a humble heart and a genuinely kind personality.  He will forever remain in the hearts of the many lives he touched.

Jose was predeceased by his beloved son, Jose E. Jerez, (in 2016), and his parents, Isaias and Pilar (Barrios), Jerez.  Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Silvia E. (Bourdett) Jerez,  daughter, Sandy Jerez, son, Samuel Jerez, four sisters, Irma, Violeta, Juana L., and Lissett Jerez, and two adored grandchildren, Isaiah E. Jerez, and Deborah E. Jerez.
 

A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home, on Monday, August 16, from 5:00-9:00 pm., with a prayer service at 7:30 pm., officiated by the Rev. Cenia Padilla, Pastor, of the Journey Community Church in Bayonne.  Interment: Tuesday, August 17, at 11:30 a.m., at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
