Joseph Wojcik Obituary

Joseph J. Wojcik, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Jersey City Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Joseph served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War.  Before his retirement in 1998, he worked as a manager for the Muralo Paint Company, a position he held for more than 40 years.

Joseph was a man of great intellect with a love for reading.  His passion for the outdoors took him to great distances through various parts of the Jersey Shore and the lakes and streams throughout the state where he found immense pleasure in his favorite sport of freshwater and saltwater fishing.  He was a devoted family man and proud father who was actively involved with the Mt. Carmel Boy Scouts during his son’s younger years.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Anna (Blicharz) Wojcik, and brothers, Frank, Andrew, Chester, Pete, and Walter.  He held a special place in his heart for his beloved pets, Foxy the Chihuahua and Matilda the Pomeranian.  Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Elcy (Rivera) Wojcik, son, Kevin Wojcik, and wife Krystina, one sister, Veronica Sutowski, one brother, Louis Wojcik, and his two adored grandchildren, Jayden and Connor Wojcik.

A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Everyone is asked to meet at 10:45 a.m. at St. John Paul II Parish, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne on Thursday, July 22nd for an 11:00 a.m. mass in Joseph's honor.  There will be no visitation at the funeral home before the funeral mass.

Cremation will be private.
