Krystyna E. (Kurowska) Zgaszczak

After a life well lived, Krystyna E. Zgaszczak, of Bayonne, entered into eternal rest peacefully on January 9, 2023.  Born in Warsaw, Poland, Krystyna came to the United States in 1969 and resided in Bayonne until briefly moving to Irvington then relocating back to Bayonne where she lived for the remainder of her life.

Before her retirement in 2008, Krystyna pursued a longtime career as a lab technician for the Hartz Mountain Company then Best Foods Corporation in Bayonne.  Her enthusiasm for life led her to travel extensively to various destinations both domestically and abroad including Italy, Spain, Morocco, the Caribbean islands, as well as several cruise excursions.  Travel and food happily coexisted for Krystyna, as she dined at many exquisite restaurants around the world.  With a passion for photography, she captured the essence of every photo she took throughout her extraordinary journey in life.  Krystyna also had a lifelong love of music and art.

Known for her elegance and sophistication, Krystyna took great pride in her appearance and was always impeccably dressed.  Her vibrant and outgoing personality touched many people and will live on forever in their hearts. 

Krystyna was predeceased by her beloved husband, John (in 2009); and her parents in Poland. Left to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law, Maria Lang, and her family, Arthur Lang and his wife, Beata, Eva DeKalb, and her goddaughter, Joann Teehan, cousins, Danita Sambade, Barbara Kaminska, Jolanta Kaminska, her dear friends, Artur Stefaniak and his wife, Anna, and Marian and Agata Wronski, as well as many loving family and friends throughout the United States. 

Visitation hours will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Friday, January 13, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.  A funeral mass in Polish will be held in Krystyna's honor on Saturday, January 14, at 10:30 a.m. from  John Paul II Parish of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. 

Donations to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Cancer Society in memory of Krystyna would be most appreciated.
