Leokadia Słowikowska entered into eternal rest peacefully on October 14, 2025, at Englewood Hospital in Englewood, New Jersey.
Born in Poland, Leokadia emigrated to the United States many years ago, where she made Bayonne her home. She worked as a skilled seamstress, crocheter, and knitter for the Bayonne Pettitcoat Company, creating beautiful sweaters, scarves, afghans, and hats for her family and friends. Each piece reflected her patience, talent, and care.
Her kitchen was always a place of comfort and connection, where family and friends gathered to share good food and conversation. She found great happiness in cooking for those she loved and never let anyone leave without feeling welcome and appreciated. Leokadia’s life was a reflection of devotion, kindness, and grace. Her thoughtfulness touched everyone around her, and her legacy of love will live on in the many lives she brightened.
She was predeceased by her parents, Czeslaw and Melania (Rawa) Budny , her sister Lucyna Cieslik and her husband Henry, and her brother-in-law Tadeusz Kulikowski.
Left to cherish her memory are her dearly beloved husband of nearly 60-years, Miroslaw Słowikowski; her sons, Dariusz Słowikowski and wife Stacey, and Robert Słowikowski and wife Andrea; her sister, Helen Kulikowski, her brother Henry Budny and wife Michele; five adored grandchildren, Robert Jr., Kate, Sarah, Matthew, and Sydney Slowikowski along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
