Leona Zajak, (nee: Sulkowski), age 81, of Bayonne, NJ, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at the Alaris Health at the Atrium Assisted Living Facility of Jersey City. Born In Jersey City, she was the beloved daughter of the late Leo and Frances Sulkowski. Leona was a resident of both Jersey City and Bayonne. She was employed for many years and later retired from the Maidenform Company in Bayonne.
She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen Zajak and devoted mother to Laura and husband Michael, Carol and husband Dennis, Joan and husband Matt, Cathy and husband Kevin, Robert and wife Jacqueline, Toni Ann and husband David and the late Susan Zajak. Loving grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 2.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a viewing at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 5, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral mass in Leona’s honor will be offered on Thursday, April 6, at 10:00 am at St. John Paul II Parish, 39 East 22nd Street, Bayonne. Entombment will follow at Saint Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ.
